Natalia Mikkola paints with her camera. Much of her inspiration comes from nature and a variety of urban environments. While some of her motifs seem familiar at first glance, she draws the viewer into a deeper complexity with a magical sense of the mystical and sensual.

Natalia work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at galleries in Stockholm and Berlin, and her work was shown at Liljevalchs art hall in Stockholm. Milano MIART and Feriarte in Madrid. Several of her art works hang in public spaces, such as Hotel Lydmar, a member of Small Luxury Hotels. And her work is found in private collections across Europe.

Natalia’s work was also featured in the autumn 2019 edition of Lapham’s Quarterly in New York, a renowned publication sponsored by the Alec Baldwin Foundation and published by the legendary chief editor of Harper’s magazine, Lewis H.Lapham.

In her Cityscape series, Natalia captures classic places, where – with the help of her camera and her artistic vernacular – she renders her evocative motifs from new perspectives, making them shimmer in a nuanced palette.

“Rather than documenting, my aim is to convey a feeling and an atmosphere,” says Natalia, whose distinctive photographic expression whets the appetite and awakens the viewer’s desire and interest.

Natalia is a dedicated supporter of Water Aid. Natalia’s works of art are produced in a renowned photo lab Grieger Fine Art in Dusseldorf.
